- What is a veterinary technician visit?
- Who can see a vet tech?
- Is it free?
- Will you trim nails?
- A vet tech visit can be booked when you are current on your annual exam with your pet’s doctor and only require things like: booster vaccines, ear cleanings, laser therapy or suture (stitches) removal. Vet techs are also able to provide follow up injections for things like: Librela, Solensia, Adequan and Cytopoint.
- Anyone can see a vet tech- as long as the request is something that they are allowed to perform by state law.
- It is NOT free; yes, we have had that question! Our vet techs love animals and they love their work but they do need to support themselves and their families too! While you see housing, food and costs of living increase, they do too! LVH works hard to provide livable wages for all of our staff to help them allay their life stressors so that they can focus on you and your pet while you are here. The tech visit cost is lower than seeing the doctor but they are more limited in what they can do. The visits are priced to support our staff and help ensure LVH continues to be able to attract and retain the BEST techs out there!!
- YES!! Back by popular demand: WE TRIM NAILS!!! No tech fee for this anymore!!! The COVID years had us so busy with sick pets that we had to stop doing anything extraneous. We are aware that it is tough to do at home and that the groomer’s are busy. We are doing this again!! We ask that you prepay for 6 nail trims at just $40 each which is $240-no other fees!! Once you sign up, you are entitled to 6 nail trims by appointment when your pet needs them that year. We are dedicating two techs to nail trims each week to help get all of those nails nice and short! Please know that if your pet requires chill protocol, or sedation, this cannot be done by techs. A doctor is required and this will need to be booked ahead of time and you can ask for a price when you make the appointment.
